Xfree86 keyboard extensions and Emacs META Key

Hi,

just tried to finetune my XF86Config file.

I found the following effects:

1. When I use the keyboard extensions:

LeftAlt     Meta
RightAlt    ModeShift
#    RightCtl    Compose
#    ScrollLock  ModeLock       
XkbDisable

then the "Alt" Key works as META in Gnu/Emacs (fine!). But the Backspace
Key does not work in several applications (Star-Office,
kdm login screen, ...)

2. When I use the keyboard extensions:

LeftAlt     Meta
RightAlt    ModeShift
#    RightCtl    Compose
#    ScrollLock  ModeLock       
# XkbDisable
XkbKeymap   "xfree86(de)"

(or XkbKeymap   "xfree86(de)"

then it is just vice verca: Backspace works, META does not.

Is there a chance to get both keys working?
