It does if you use linked tables [front-end, back-end] (via the common
dialog OpenFile thingy).  This can easily be gotten around by pathing
each of the link tables with the network share path
(\\servera\shareb\dir1\dumbfile.mdb).  IMHO, the whole drive letter
thing with Windows is completely brain damaged in a network environment.  

Access is not useful as a networked database system, it's page level
locking creates all kinds of conflict situations and it's not very
robust when multiple users (> 1) are editing data simultaneously.
Better to port the backend to a real database server.  Anyway, this is
way off-topic now...
