Too bad you can still get to their web site(s).

I agree with joeyh that disabling pings is silly and fairly
unfriendly to the net.  However, there are two ways to do it
that I can think of:

1) RTFM ipchains (for 2.2.x kernels) or iptables

2) Look through /proc/sys/net/ipv4 and learn about sysctl.
