executing a command within mutt

When I try to issue an alias (set in ~/.bash_profile) inside mutt,
(with '!') it won't recognize the alias.

On the shell prompt OTOH, this works as always. Is it that alias'd
commands don't get exported to mutt or what?

Cheers
