cd /usr/local/src/linux
make oldconfig 
make-kpkg clean
make-kpkg --revision=3:`hostname`.2.2.0 kernel_image
dpkg -i ../kernel*.deb
lilo 
shutdown -r now

since debian is in a test cycle im not sure how they would get a new
kernel in.  for this i think the test cycle should be terminated the
new kernel and Xfree installed and the 3rd cycle started.

a 3rd cycle will be needed anyway due to a RC bug in Xfree.  (the
Xsession thing)
