automagically queuing sendmail on dial-up

hi,

I have my machine set up in such a way that when I connect to the internet,
I have a fetchmail daemon running and polling my pop server while I am
connected to the internet but when I send email thru sendmail, it queues all
mail when I connect to the net, but not when I am already connected to the
internet. in order for all mail to be sent while i am connected, i still have
to issue the command sendmail -q. I would like to be able to make sendmail
queue mail on regular intervals (just like fetchmail) . Is this possible? or
am I asking too much?
