I read, that there was a problem with data alignment in the Scilab under
Linux. For details read:

Or enter the dejanews and search for "+Scilab +alignment" in the complete
archive.
To summarize it shortly - you need to add the -malign-double option
in fortran compiler options (the FC_OPTIONS variable).
