You need to add :

ProxyRequests on

to enable proxy support.

Also, if you do not add something like :

CacheGcInterval 1

your cache will never be purged, and will
grow forever.

Adding something like :

<Directory proxy:*>
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from localnet
</Directory>

in access.conf might also help.
