Dmesg shows the same here. I am running a stepper control program off
of lp1 and it works fine. Alltho I did have to change the mode to get
it to work.

Real software engineers work from 9 to 5, because that is the way the
job is described in the formal spec. Working late would feel like
using an undocumented external procedure.
