Try it when you subscribed from the Windows machine at work in order to get
help getting mail working on your Linux box at home.  With any decent MUA
it's easier to just send the unsubscribe message, while in the Windows the
thing is useless.  It should be replaced with the line used on all the
other Debian lists (which also includes the address to write to if the
unsubscribe doesn't work).
