Can't run Netscape 4.72 (linux2.2) from tarball

I downloaded the following 128bit version of netscape (in tarball) form
from the netscape ftp site:

communicator-v472-us.x86-unknown-linux2.2.tar.gz

I installed it in the same manner as I have installed netscape-4.7 (from
similar tarball) in /usr/local/netscape by using ns-install. However,
this time when I try an run netscape, I get the following shared library
error:

@phoenix: netscape
netscape: error in loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Exit 127

I did a "find / -name "libstdc++*" -print" to see which version of
libstdc++ libraries were installed on my system, and this is what I got:

/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.2.8
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.2/libstdc++.so
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.2/libstdc++.a
/usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3
/usr/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.a
/usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.a.3
/usr/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.1-2-2.10.0.so
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.2.8.0

I don't see a "libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2" but I see a newer version of
that library. Here are the stdc++ libraries installed on my system
currently:

@phoenix:[/home/ssahmed] findpkg libstd
ii  libstdc++2.10      2.95.2-6   The GNU stdc++ library
ii libstdc++2.10-dev 2.95.2-6 The GNU stdc++ library (development files)
ii libstdc++2.8 2.90.29-2 The GNU stdc++ library (old egcs version)

I am running potato/frozen with kernel-2.2.14. Does anyone know what
library(ies) I should install to get this netscape-4.72 to work ? I
would download the .debs for netscae-4.72 except that I would like to
get the 128-bit version of netscape and that isn't available in .deb.

Thanks for any info.
