I take it you're running an installation kernel, and they're all stuffed
with drivers that people might possibly need during installation.

Try building your own with the kernel-package and leave out all this
stuff (specifically CONFIG_QIC02_TAPE supplies tpqic02.o). Besides,
you can then build your sound modules.
