Right, but your best bet (IMHO) would probably be to
stay off the list if you aren't very experienced.
i.e. if you can't figure out how to get onto a
listserv =). When I first joined I unsubscribed after
a couple weeks because it was too much mail, I
couldn't answer anybody's questions, and couldn't
benefit from the answers they got from others because
I didn't understand enough. So I asked questions for
about the first six months that I used debian with the
request that replies be "cc[ed] to me, as I'm not on
the list". Most ppl do this already, but not all.
Now that I'm more experienced I get more out of the
questions other people ask and answer and can
occasionally even answer a query or two.
