Use dselect's search function to pick out the packages you know you will use, allow dselect to take care of the dependancies, and pay very close attention to all of the suggested packages, being sure to select those you will need.  Remember to grab the xfree86-common, xserver-common, and xserver package for your card.  Don't bother with the xf86setup, xf86config is included in the xserver-common package.  It's not as flashy as XF86Setup, but is, IMHO, much better (works more often with better results for more cards)

It may seem like a lot, but it's probably the quickest way.
