I suggest you try the following :

1. Upgrade XFree86 to the latest version via http://www.debian.org/~vincent, using apt-get

2. Read :  http://www.xfree86.org/3.3.6/cirrus.html for options you may have to include in the XF86Config file.

3. Specify the XF86_SVGA x -server when you configure X.
