But how can you explain
--------------------------
#! /bin/ash
mkdir -p test/{foo,bar}
--------------------------
does expand the {foo,bar}, while

--------------------------
#!/bin/ash
mkdir -p test/{foo,bar}
--------------------------
does not. Note that there is a space between #! and /bin/ash in the
first case.
