update Re: minicom: remote echo



Hello:
	Here is an update.  I think the serial port is hosed.

	I shorted pins 2 and 3 on the cable for a loopback test.
There was no response from that computers serial port.  I took the
cable over to another computer and shorting 2-3 while typing in a comm
program echo'd the character input.

I think the UARTs or something on the motherboard related to serial
port --> computer communication is on the fritz.

Most likely I will move the modem to a different computer.
