Hello, I run E on a Pentium 100 w 24 Mb RAM. As far as the colors "not going together", you can change the appearance of the gnome applications, by changing the GTK themes. The gnomecc application makes installing and changing themes quite easy. You can also preview them, and "try" them right away.
