lilo & SMART2 RAID & potato

I am trying to install potato on a Compaq Proliant 5500 with SMARTII RAID
controller. The problem that I have encountered is that lilo decides to
barf.

Reading boot sector from /dev/c0d0p1
Merging with boot/boot.b
Sorry, don't know how to handle device 0x480
