best way of backing up to tape?

Hello,

I have a DEC TZ87 SCSI tape drive and I want to use it for backing up. What would be the best way of backing files up to it? Each tape can hold 10GB/20GB (normal/compressed) and I will be backing up about 4GB worth of files. Something else I would like is something that is fairly easy to use, restore and is reliable. I am using slink.
