Proxy ARP

Hi

I'm trying to set up a Proxy Arp in my Linux Debian via ppp connection.
I've read the documentation about this topic, and I've done (I think)
everything necessary for it works, but still not working...

The server and client both have virtual ip's(192.168.1.1 and
192.168.1.10). I have configured the arp using the following command
arp -s laboratory2 XX:YY:ZZ:WW:FF:DD( I do have a DNS entry for
laboratory2, which is 192.168.1.1 computer. I've also tried using ip,
but didnt work).

When I run arp -a, it shows me that

laboratory2(192.168.1.10) at HWADDR [ether] PERM on eth0 (that's it)

One machine can see each other(I mean, ping each other, and also run
telnet at windows and log on)

At the client(Windows) I've configured 192.168.1.1 as default gateway on
tcp options, and when I try to lookup a host I use the ip address
instead of dns entry.

So I have some questions:

1-Do I have to set a Hardware Address to my modem at ARP database?

2-Does the client need another kind of configuration?

3-What I did wrong?

Looking foward to your answer
