Re: cron error message
that might be the problem as null was as follows :
crw-r--r-- 1 root root 1, 3 Feb 23 1999 null
i have changed it as indicated.. so hopefully it will be fine now.. thanx

What are your permissions on /dev/null? Should be:
$ vdir /dev/null
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 3 Jul 20 1998 /dev/null
