Same problem with Trident here. I finally downloaded XSVGA.tgz 3.3.3.1 from
one of the Free86 ftp mirrors and replaced the Xserver of the 3.3.5 deps.
It was a huge performance boost to use Option "accel" again.  Without accel
it's just a pain :)

Ohh, wait I use 32ppp, 16bbp did not work with 3.3.3.1 for me.
