2.2.12, tr0, and X errors... kernel? or driver? or ??

I am using an IBM Auto 16/4 ISA card and have compiled 2.2.12 for that
support (not as a module). The problems I'm having occur with or without pnp
support for the card. I am using pump as a dhcp client.

The system boots and experiences no slowdown when ipxd starts (which was the
problem I had with an olicom card). The kernel sends out what for me appears to
be weird messages concerning the card attempting to set functional addresses.
Additionally, dmesg reveals a never-before seen problem with X.
This problem manifests itself on startup of xdm with a large delay. Finally I
note the token ring card's ISRP_EVEN error. This is currently 04, but has been
05 when I moved the mem. address around to 0xa24. Same things happened then as
well.

The errors (printout below) are pretty meaningless to me, but I want to resolve
them unless they are harmless (if such errors exist).

I haven't yet encountered a problem stemming from this initial clash in the
operations of X (not enough time to experiment, perhaps? :) but ??? The
net connection appears to work as well.

I have posted to linux-kernel but have gotten no responses.

Does anyone know what the issue may be here? I'm including a partial of
kern.log below which reflects dmesg. Following that is the ifconfig for
tr0.

Thanks for any help/thoughts!
