I would suggest changing `dave@jardine' to simply `dave' in your
.fetchmailrc. The problem is fetchmail is trying to send it to
dave@jardine, but this address gets rewritten by exim to
davidj@debitel.net which doesn't exist on your machine, and can't be
delivered to. Changing to simply dave will make fetchmail send to
dave@localhost which won't be affected by the rewrite. At least, I
think that'll work!
