The info you need is in Documentation/devices.txt in the kernel source
tree, or you can get it at:

ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/docs/device-list/

The mknod commands would be:

mknod /dev/hde b 33 0
mknod /dev/hde1 b 33 1

and so on...
