mounting problems

Hi all,

Been recompiling my 2.2.10 kernel to be able to use hp 8100+ CDRW.
I think I got it all right but some strange things did happen.

I can't mount my ordinary cd anymore!
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdc,
or too many mounted file systems

Where do I start looking?

Here is some information.
in fstab:
/dev/hdc /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
