What does /etc/modules look like?
You have to list all modules you use there (unless you use kmod [read
the kernel-documentation on what that is]).

How does your /etc/modutils/* look like?
Have you run update-modules?

(If you don't know what these does, read the manpage and then ask and
I will be happy to help. I compiled 2.2.10 myself for about 10 days ago.)

Does the modules exist in those directories? (Stupid question I know...)
