Depending on your setup, you probably want to read:

   pppd man page (8) under OPTIONS:

   <local_IP_address>:<remote_IP_address>

When mgetty, for instance, runs pppd, it needs to have this on the
command line (or, probably better, in a file pointed to by the pppd file
option).
