Re: error messages in dselect and xterm

Because your dselect interrupted with error 1, maybe not all packages are
installed. Browse the Select of dselect for packages, where you can see only
two '*'.
If the package, which causes the error 1 message is not essential, you can try
to deselect it (press '_' or '-' to deselect the higlighted package, '*' to
select it) and do another install run.
Otherwise I do it like this:
# dpkg --configure --pending
It will try to configure the packages not configured. You will get your error.
You will find that dpkg does an error report on every packet.
e.g.
# dpkg --configure --pending
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of wmspaceweather:
wmspaceweather depends on wget; however: <--- look at this line
Package wget is not installed.
dpkg: error processing wmspaceweather (--configure):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
wmspaceweather

If it is a dependency problem like here, install the other deb first. There may
be other problems like conflicting packages or wrong version. If this doesn't
help it would be easier if you posted the complete error report of dpkg to this
thread.
