Thanks-a-lot for all your help.
Finally managed to start X11 - i re installed
the whole thing, and eventually found that i've had started the ega server as
the x server, wich, of course, made me run into a lot of trouble. So it's
fixed.
I'm sure i'll have to ask for help again. Untill
