Yep, it happened to me too. Apparently the default kernel has support for several
SCSI cards, and with the 2940 there seems to be some conflict between them (or at
least the gist I got from earlier discussions). There's a site that has custom boot
and root diskette images for Debian that solves this problem. I don't have the URL,
but you can search the Debian mail archives for "2940" and "Kent West" and probably
find the posting where someone sent me the URL. It would be within the past 9 months.

Or perhaps in the next few minutes/hours, someone will again post the URL here. At
any rate, I wanted you to know that there is a solution.
