preserving /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/config/* ?

Hi,

maybe you can help me with some advice...
I need to keep some changed Files in place (due to the installation of Motif:
site.def, Motif.rules, Motif.templ) and I am not sure what would be
the best way to achieve this.

Is there a 'canonical' way to cope with this?

Currently each update of xlib6g-dev simply overwrites the files,
naturally.

I built my own Motif debs with help of alien and there is no obvious
problem except of this.
I already looked into the rules of the Motif installer packages, but
these leave this problem simply untouched.

Sure the solution is obvious and easy but I seem to have problems to
find it ;-)

I have this slight feeling that solely registering these files as
config files with the motif debs isn't quite the right way to handle
it.

cu,

marcus
