Potato is not stable yet, but if you choose to upgrade libc6, you will need to
upgrade to potato.  I am going to stay with slink until potato is stable.
I don't recall how to upgrade, maybe some potato users will enlighten us.

I have installed some of the packages that are included with potato with no
problems, but one I need and could not install was gtk 1.2.  gtk 1.2 requires
libc6 2.1.1.  I was unable to install several new apps because I don't have
gtk 1.2.

I am just a newbie, so I am leaving potato alone for now :)
