A friend had a problem installing base2_1.tgz from my Cheapbytes
4 CD set (I only upgraded). However, I note that it appears to
match a version on the Debian site:
$ md5sum /cdrom/dists/slink/main/disks-i386/2.1.8-1999-02-22/base2_1.tgz
ba80c21b75686bb62fb89d85e1c1d405
$ md5sum /debian2/web/debian.org/releases/slink/i386/base2_1.tgz
ba80c21b75686bb62fb89d85e1c1d405
So I'm not sure that's the problem (I may have to install it
fresh somewhere just to test it out...).
(So Dan, why do you have a version on your public_html. Is one known
to be corrupted? Thanks)
