Great. Thanks a lot: this pointed me in the right direction. I
couldn't actually run MAKEDEV dsp, but I had a look at MAKEDEV, and
found MAKEDEV audio worked ok. I've got the default permissions, and
added myself to audio group using
adduser <username> audio
as root, and this worked fine.
