I am just now trying to compile my kernel for sound as per Marl Wagnon's recent suggestions, but lo and behold, no /usr/src/linux.... and on top of that, the only directory in my /usr/src directory is REDHAT?!?!?! What's up here? So I just tried to go to /usr/src and type "make xconfig" and I get the message "no rule to make target "xconfig". Stop" I am baffled - please help! ps - I am running slink, which I freshly installed after vetoing hamm.... Rich
