RE: chmod segmentation faulting

first do an strace
that is type
strace chmod <something> <somefile>
and then you will see exactly at what point it's failing and maybe why.
if you think it's important, send that output here, i'm sure someone will
find.

it's maybe a library or something else...
i once had a problem with all dns related application, and it was a library
which looks good (same size/ time/ etc... as original) but as sound as i put
the original one, everything worked again.
