To start the 2nd session with the default bpp:

startx -- :1

If you want to run the 2nd session at xbpp, you do the following :

startx -- :1 -bpp x

To switch between the 2 x-sessions you either use ctrl-alt-F7 (for the 1st session) or ctrl-alt-F8 (for the 2nd session)
