Moddep -a and Co

Last week I decied to become a Fashion personn using Module in my kernel
stopping compiling it each time ...  So I setted my FileSystem, NE
2000 card, etc like modules !! All compiled fine !!
Great ! But when I done a depmod -a a lots of modules was having reference
not solved !!

Why and what must I do to avoid this !!
