Can see CD but...

Ok I have been working on this forever but I can finally see what is on
my "Extras"  disk but I can't read the files included.  For example:

$ mount /cdrom
$ ls /cdrom
ASK.EXE                   TheDebianUsersGuide.html  kde
ASKSRC                    boot                      ls-lR.txt
README.1ST                debian                    rr_moved
START.BAT                 disks                     tools
TRANS.TBL                 install                   upgrade
$ cat README.1ST
cat: README.1ST: No such file or directory

What am I doing wrong?

This is my "fstab" file if it helps:

$ cat /etc/fstab
