where to turn for info on installation disks

hi-

  i would appreciate it if someone could give me some pointers
concerning where to look as far as getting or making a rescue disk
that will boot on a thinkpad 770 ed.  

  i've tried both the vanilla and tecra hamm disks dated july 21st w/o
any luck -- see message w/ id:
