Hi,

if You using apt-get for installing, updating or upgrading packages,
please try:

apt-get update <package> ; apt-get install <package>
e.g.
apt-get update gide ; apt-get install gide
please note:
eventually You have to change the entries in:
`/etc/apt/sources.list`
to Your needs
e.g.
# Remember that you can only use http, ftp or file URIs
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian slink main contrib non-free
