installing debian
Hi,
I downloaded Debian last night and I cant seem to install it.
I retrieved it from the net on one machine and I want to install it, by
floppy to an old 386 with 4MB ram and 120MB hard disk.
I have got through the low mem disk fine (partitioned hard disk into
Linux, Linux swap, Minux/Linux).
When I go to the rescue disk, I select my keyboard type and then I
choose "Initialize and Activate a Swap Partition". I choose the drive,
followed by choosing whether or not to scan for bad sectors (I answer
no), followed by "You have choosen to initialize /dev/hda4 as a swap
device. This will permanently erase any data on this partition. Are you
sure you want to do this?" (I choose yes)
I then get the error message "The swap partition /dev/hda4 could not be
activated: Device or resource busy. Continue." How do I get around
this. I tried to get past it by choosing to do without a swap partition,
but further ahead i was told i was out of memory.
Thanks for the help
a very tired customer
