All you will need is the NIS package. Read the docs that some with it or
read the NIS howto. If this is the only NIS server on the network and that
other linux box is the only client, there will be no problem. If there are
workstations from other vendors (Sun Microsystems, for example) there
could be problems with both NIS and NFS if the Sun box binds to your linux
box as its NIS server. Linux has different default user/group assignments
and you might find the file ownerships of all the files suddenly change!
Also Linux needs some tweaking to get a fake lockd working.
