How to set the svga driver as default for X (was: X on a laptop)

No, it's a Trident Cyber 9385. But when I configured the SVGA server,
I choose it from the list, so I don't think it's anything specific
about the card.

It must be something very simple that a newbee just can't see. X uses
that "screen" section in the XF86Config file which is for the vga16
driver. A section for the svga driver exists and AFAIK it's ok, but X
isn't interested in it...
