/dev/mouse is nothing but a symbolic link to the actual device. For a
PS/2 mouse it has to point to /dev/psaux. You also need kernel support
for this, so you may have to recompile your kernel or install a
module. Finally you either need to rewrite the pointer section in the
/etc/X11/XF86Config file manually or rerun /usr/bin/X11/XF86Setup.
