thanks. But i wasn't using a revision number; just a flavour. It
still complained when i added a kernel number. And the odd thing is
that it allowed me to make one package before this happened--but I'd
misspecified the flavour (I have three distinctly different machines
to deal with, and labeled it the wrong one.).
Once that first package was made (and without a revision number, which
may be the problem), it flatly refused to make more, regardless of
flavour or revision.
I removed the Stamp* files, and it happily made the package.
