Debian also loads a "default" keymap during startup. I'm not sure, I
think the 'kbd' package sets this up. Anyway, look in /etc/kbd/ for
another default.map[.gz]. Instead of patching the kernel you can put
your custom defkeymap.map here as default.map[.gz].
