I do a fresh install debian2.0 from the lattest resc1440.bin without any
difficulty and had run through dselect and finishing up without any error,
then I recompile my kernel to have support in ipmasq, and had gone thru
these basic steps:

1 make mrproper
2 make menuconfig ( I prefer this one )
3 make dep clean modules modules_install zImage

and it ended up about 10 min later without any error, then I cp the vmlinuz
in
arch/i386/boot/zImage to /boot and run lilo. crossing my finger and reboot
my machine, but it stuck at :

VFS: Cannot open root device 03:01
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:01

----------------------------------------------------------------------

and it just sit there unwilling to go any further, can somebody point me
out where might be the problem and how could I correct it.

TIA
Kusuma
